So You Want To Be A House Sitter? Here's How To Find A House Sitting Assignment (And You Won'T Be Paid A Cent For Your Efforts)

The kinds of house sitting opportunities I'm about to tell you about are available to anyone, anywhere with an email address who can get online to check for offers of house sitting jobs (and then transport themselves to the owner's property of course, but that comes later).

If you're thinking that you would like to housesit to make some extra money, turn away now. Because if you advertise your house sitting services with an online matching service such as mine, you won't be paid a cent for your efforts. In fact, you'll be paying for your share of the bills during your house sitting assignment (and you may be asked for a security deposit by the home owner).

What is a free house sitter required to do?

While the home owner is away everything continues in the property as usual (that's where you come in!). Bills need to be paid to keep services connected, plants need watering, gardens, lawns and trees need to be maintained, mail and phone messages may need to be forwarded, and pets remain as demanding of love, care and companionship as ever. While the relationship between home owner and house sitter is mutually beneficial and based on trust the house sitter is, in effect, working for the home owner. The house sitter agrees to occupy the home owner's property for a given period of time. Generally the house sitter is required to be in the property most evenings and nights (although, like everything, this may be negotiable), giving the property its usual occupied appearance to deter burglars, squatters and vandals. Often, there will be one or more animals to care for (these can be fish, rabbits, cats and dogs, hamsters, goats and horses!)

What costs does the house sitter have?

The house sitter funds all their own day-to-day requirements while on assignment and generally agrees to replace everything of the home owner's that they consume. Before the house sitting assignment begins, both parties need to sit down and spell out who is responsible for which bills. Generally, any vet bills and costs of maintaining the property should remain with the owner, while the sitter takes care of their share of utility bills. A security deposit may also be required by the home owner to insure against any damages. This is negotiable but shouldn't be more than the cost of a month's rent for a similar property in the area.

How do I advertise my house sitting services?

You could advertise your house sitting services by word of mouth (fellow RVers are especially in need of house sitters), by company email, by taking out a small classified advert in a local paper or by sticking your own advert on public notice boards. All of these methods may attract the attention of a local home owner and result in an offer of a house sitting assignment.

However, if you are currently in Canada and want to house sit in Florida (for example) you'll need to 'go global' and advertise your house sitting services with an online house sitting directory. These websites generally follow two basic models of business practice. In the first fully online model, house sitters pay an annual fee (usually around US$30) to create their own sitter available advert which is online and searchable 24 hours per day. Home owners then search the website's database and contact house sitters directly. You can also personally respond to any sitter wanted adverts on the site.

In the second model, the website only serves as an advert for the business which is conducted by the administrators 'behind the scenes'. For an annual fee (this can be US$95 or more for the whole package) the business owner agrees to include the house sitter's advert in either an email or printed mailing list which is then posted out to an unspecified number of home owners. There may also be the option of paying to receive a list of sitter wanted adverts by email or post. This second type of service may seem less transparent than the first - you don't actually know if your advert has been sent out or how many home owners may have seen it. However, if the site seems well established and has many testimonials from satisfied customers then it should be worth the initial investment.

What should I look for in a good house sitting website?

To have any kind of success as a house sitter you need to spend the relatively small fee (membership fees on the reputable sites range from free to around US$95 per year) to list with a website that is well-designed and informative, with good usability and a logical navigation structure.

The website should be easy to find through a search engine. To check how established a website is and how high they are ranked with the search engines, type a generic term such as “house sitters” (use double quotes to perform the more useful phrase search) into the search field of your preferred search engine. Your house sitting directory site of choice should be listed in the top 100 page returns.

If you regularly use the Internet, you will have your own criteria for what makes a good website. Peruse the different sites, try out the search function for both sitter available adverts and sitter wanted adverts. Read through the FAQs section and see how well-informed you feel at the end of it. If membership on the site is free, join as a member and create your own sitter available advert. What have you got to lose?

What should I avoid in a house sitting website?

If a website is very badly made and difficult to navigate it's very likely that home owners will be staying away from the service in droves. Be wary of those online businesses that ask for a hefty up-front membership fee (anything over US$95) but offer no guarantee of satisfaction. If a website seems cagey about just how many of their house sitter members are being offered house sitting assignments and hides how they operate their business give them a wide berth. Often these websites are just selling the dream of rent-free accommodation, which never materialises for their disappointed members.

How do I get started as a house sitter?

Once you've got your advert online you'll need to prepare yourself for any eventuality (house sitting is like that). If you're not that confident with pets you may want to get cosy with a few of your friends' cats and dogs to prepare you for the inevitable pet sitting duties that accompany house sitting assignments. Get your references in order (or ask the relevant people to become email and/or phone referees for you) and commission a police background check on yourself to show home owners that you're not a member of the Beagle Boys (remember them?) Make sure your passport is current in case something great and last minute comes up. You'll also need to open an email account that you can travel with (if you haven't got one already) that has a generous storage limit (Yahoo offers a huge 250mb as standard). It is crucial that you remain contactable - if you are not from mainland USA forget about opening a Hotmail account as these are notorious for having a tiny inbox that is continually going 'over limit'.

Finally, once you've chosen a website (or another method of advertising) don't fall into the trap of waiting for home owners to advertise their house sitting assignments so that you can contact them. The vast majority of home owners prefer to search sitter available adverts and contact house sitters directly. If you don't create your own advert, no one will be able to find you!

What are my chances of being offered a house sitting assignment?

There are many factors that influence your chances of being chosen for an assignment. Some of these you can't control (such as your age, marital status and country of residence) others you can (such as providing references, offering home owners a security deposit, a police background check and the chance to interview you for the job before making a decision). The importance of having a well-written advert describing yourself and your experience in adequate detail (around 100 words) cannot be overestimated.

Conclusion

In my work as a website editor and administrator I come across a great many lonely online classifieds and forlorn requests on bulletin boards from people who are looking to trade their house and pet sitting services in exchange for free accommodation. These types of requests are the Internet equivalent of 'whistling in the wind' as the right people never see them. Fortunately, the creation of online house sitting matching services has provided the space and the facilities for home owners and house sitters to find one another at last.

House sitting worldwide is about bringing people together from around the globe for the free exchange of services (house and pet sitting) with goods (accommodation). Making yourself available as a house sitter could be your first step towards one of many life-enhancing adventures. Whatever you're seeking from a house sitting assignment, there is undoubtedly someone out there who has the right house sitting opportunity at the right time for you. The challenge is finding each other! Best of luck with your house sitting.

Starting a Bake Shop Business

If baking is your forte, then starting a bake shop business can prove to be a good business proposition.

Making a living doing what you want requires both passion and commitment in equal amounts. Anyone who bakes will know the kind of effort and attention that goes into coming up with all those delectable cakes and pastries, pies and scones and all those other bake "what not's" that can get your mouth watering. However if you are passionate about baking, are creative and experimental and like the idea of being your own boss then opening a bake shop business is where you should think of channelizing your efforts and energy.

Home or Retail Outlet?

The best part about this business is that it can prove to be just as profitable even if you decide to run it from home! Your kitchen probably has all the necessary equipment already. Things such as an oven and baking pans are commonly used in almost all homes. This means you don't have to worry about a huge investment. But before you do anything first make up your mind, from where you plan to run your bake shop business. Are you going to make it a "home business" venture or plan on taking up a retail outlet?

Running a business from your home is a simpler and cheaper option obviously. And with the internet, you don't really need to have a physical location to do any kind of business. A lot of small and medium business owners create a website for their business and use it to successfully invite clients and customers and to advertise their products. A retail unit is an option if you have the monetary funds and resources required. Again as mentioned earlier, where you plan to do business from is for you to decide.

How do the others do it?

Although there is a good market for all kinds of cakes and bakes, it is advisable to check out competition as well as what sells, what is in demand and most importantly how people advertise and sell their products. In order to do this, make a list of all the bake shop businesses in and around your area. Check these places and gather information from the owners if possible

Planning for you business

Once you have all the information you want your next step is to put all that information into perspective. The most important step is to come up with a well chalked out plan for your bake shop business. Once you are done with that your next step will be to create a business plan that outlines just how you are going to go ahead with setting up your business.

Include things like, investment required (on a very small and basic level), hiring of labor or help (optional) equipment and items needed, advertising costs, operational costs of running your business on a daily basis (electricity, phone, water, storage facilities etc. Obviously your startup costs and other figures will be higher if you plan to rent a retail unit as opposed to operating from your home.

Marketing

No business can succeed without some form of marketing. Unlike big businesses you may not have the option of a big advertising budget. But the good news is that you can market your business even without it. Here are some easy and cheap ways of doing so -
• Place advertisements in the yellow pages

• Print flyers

• Word of mouth advertising

• Setup a website for you business

• Give away free samples

• Offer a gift basket or hamper at a local function/retail store

• Place advertisements on notice boards of schools and your church

• Print business cards and hand them out generously.

A Fire Safety Escape Plan Tells Everyone What To Do If Your Home Catches On Fire.

In 2004, the 410 thousand residential fires in America caused more than 14 thousand injuries and 3 thousand deaths, according to the U.S. Fire Administration (USFA). You can prevent fire-related deaths and injuries, and even most residential fires by being knowledgeable about fire safety. Ensure your and your family's safety by creating an escape plan, teaching children fire safety and fire-proofing your home.

Fire Safety Escape Plan

A fire safety escape plan tells everyone what to do if your home catches on fire. Your family needs to discuss fire safety issues, and design an escape plan for your home. The escape plan needs to inform everyone in your family of the two safest routes out of each room in your house and where to meet once outside.

When discussing fire safety issues with your family, it is also a good idea to talk about each person's responsibilities in the case of a fire, such as who helps whom out of the house. Be sure to explain to each family member to crawl to a safe exit; don't stop to save anything, and, if possible, to alert others by yelling "FIRE!" or beating on doors as they crawl by.

Fire Safety and Kids

Fire safety and education begins with children. Tragically, children cause over thousands of residential fires each year, the majority stemming from children playing with matches. You need to teach your children to obey the following fire safety rules: Never play with matches or lighters, always have an adult help you when cooking, never touch gasoline or any other flammable liquids.

Always STOP, DROP, AND ROLL! If you or your clothes catch on fire. Never place anything into an electrical outlet and always get help from an adult if something catches on fire.

Your children are the most important people in your life, so educate them about fire safety and prevention.

Fire Safety and Your Home

Electrical fires are the most common type of residential fires in America. The following fire safety tips lower the probability of residential electrical fires: Don't overload outlets or piggy-back extension cords, Keep all combustible items, such as hairspray and household cleaners, away from all heaters, Check all electrical tools and appliances for frayed or cracked cords, Purchase electrical appliances that meet the Underwriter's Laboratory's (UL) safety requirements and Keep children away from electrical appliances, such as heaters and irons.

Electric stoves, ovens, stereos, heaters, and clothes dryers are responsible for the majority residential electrical fires. Follow all manufacturers' instructions, and use all appliances carefully and responsibly. Sometimes, no matter the precautionary fire safety steps you take, an electrical fire can still occur. If this happens, knowing the proper fire safety procedure is invaluable in keeping your home safe. Shut off burning appliances by unplugging the cord, Put out small fires with your home fire extinguisher, Do not put water on electrical fires, Get everyone out of the house and Do not try to handle large fires by yourself; call 911, report the fire, and tell them it is an electrical fire.

Educating yourself and your family on fire safety helps to lower your chances of a residential fire and gives you the knowledge of what to do in the case of a fire.

Canned Soup Vs Homemade

While many people dealing with increasingly busy schedules have come to rely on prepackaged and ready made dinner options, there are some hidden dangers in these preparations that go beyond their nutritional (or lack thereof) content. Not only are harmful additives such as MSG often covered up by the generically labeled 'spice' on the back of the label, but the packaging of some of these options also leaves a great deal to be desired. Canned goods for example can have a variety of problems associated with them ranging from concerns about Botulism to Bisphenol A.

The latter, Bisphenol A, has been of recent concern among food health advocates. According to some studies, this potentially toxic substance is used to coat the inner surface of cans. This substance has however been associated with being an endocrine disrupter. Studies and consumer reports have expressed grave concern about this substance particularly when consumed by small children and babies. In November 2009 the consumer report stated that adverse effects had been linked to Bisphenol A.

Some of these effects include reproductive abnormalities, a heightened risk for certain kinds of cancers including breast and prostate cancer, heart disease and diabetes. And while Bisphenol A is used primarily in the making of plastics (another reason to avoid plastic drinking bottles and opt for stainless steel reusable bottles), it is also found among some of our favourite canned soups.

So while canned soups might be some of the quickest means to put a hot meal on the table or to offer your child what might be a healthier lunch option, the truth of the matter is that you may want to avoid this. Although it is quick and easy and some soups which are organic might even be healthy in and of themselves, the canning process is something that might be harming you or your family.

Making your own soup is a lot less difficult then some people suspect. Next time you're boiling your carrots take that leftover water, add a few onions and some celery and, if you like, that leftover chicken bone, and simmer yourself a great stock. Some might even chose to blend this up together once its ready for a thicker stock option. Add the vegetables, lentils, beans or meat that you like and your almost done. The longer a soup simmers of course the better it will taste, but with just a slight bit of planning ahead you will have a much more affordable and safer option. Making a big batch and freezing some is also a great way to save time and to have something easy to grab as a side dish at your next dinner.

Making your own soup is a great way to use up leftover veggies that are looking a little soggy. You can throw in a variety of things, depending on what you've got and what you like. Whatever the case, this will certainly be a healthier and less expensive option that going for canned soups no matter how terrific the ingredients they claim to have used. The canning process itself, as it stands, is potentially harmful and caution is therefore warranted.

5 Places to Find Quality Framed Art Work Cheap

Everyone wants to have nice looking framed art work on their walls to keep there home from feeling lifeless and cold. The problem is to have a piece of art or a poster framed at the local framing shop could cost you more then the art itself costs, I know. I took 8 pieces of art to my local framer and after selecting all the matting and framing the guy said:

“That will be $3500 please”

“You’ve got to be kidding, I only paid $100 for the 8 pieces your framing” I responded.

“No sir I'm not kidding, framing is expensive” he replied.

Well I picked up my art and left his store, there’s no way I could afford that much. On my way home I started to think about how expensive it was to frame these 8 cheap art prints and posters. That’s when I decided to look around at what other alternatives I had and came up with my list of 5 places to find good art cheap, here they are:

- Consignment Stores: In most cities there is a consignment shop that handles furniture, art work, and household items. These shops can be a great place to find older framed art for your walls at very reasonable prices.

- Estate Sales: What can I say other than watch your local newspaper and go to the estate sales. There can be great art to be had at these, after all someone live in the house and they had art work. Also remember to get to the sale early for a number to get in so you can get the good stuff.

- Starving Artist Sales: You can find these sales in most cities as well. You will typically hear ads on the TV or Radio for these sales, you know the ones they advertise something like “No Painting over 59 dollars”.

- Auctions: I love going to auctions and have found some great pieces of art at them. But one word of caution, know what you’re biding on and don’t get caught up in the bidding frenzy or you will pay too much.

- Internet Sites: This is where I buy most of my framed art work from these days. At sites like art.com you can get any print, poster, limited edition framed and matted at a very reasonable price. I prefer this method because they have great framing and matting wizards that help you pick just what you want.

In the end if you use 1 or all 5 of these resources you will be able to bring life to your home with great art work for a fraction of the cost of custom framing. I have and I know you will too.

Air Purifiers - A First Time Buyers Guide

The aim of keeping an air purifier is to free the air from all of the contaminants. When environmental researchers highlighted the fact that the indoor air is dirtier than the outdoor air, the popularity and the demand for air purifiers soared. Air purifiers will be helpful to persons suffering from allergies and asthma and to those who want to reduce the risk of passive smoking.

Air purifiers on the market use various different techniques for purification of the air. Electrostatic charges, ionizers, charcoal and absorbents are some of the methods used to purify the air. Germicidal ultra violet light is also used for this purpose.

Visual appeal, noise level and filter replacement frequency are some of the factors to be taken into account when selecting an air purifier. Filters also come in many different varieties. Some of them can be cleaned by hand, water or by vacuuming. Some of these filters need to be replaced within months depending upon the usage.

Air purifiers filtering out 99.97 percent of particles of 0.3 micrometers in the air are set as the best air purifier. These types of purifiers are very expensive.

The Association of Home Appliance Manufactures (AHAM) is the agency rating the performance of various air purifiers. The indicator used is the clean air delivery rating. There is some controversy over the claim involving ionic air purifiers since these machines generate the pollutant ozone. High concentration of ozone emitted by the air purifiers can pose some threat to health.

According to the American Lung Association, the effectiveness of an air purifier depends on the unit's efficiency and the amount of air drawn through it. Look into the type of pollutants it will capture and the percentage it captures. Select a device that circulates air many times an hour.

Besides air circulation, ensure to consider other factors such as:

- Can it move air from all corners of the room
- Size of the room
- Whether the air purifier is meant for any specific problem such as smoke or pollen.
- Adaptability to the change in needs.

Cost of an air purifier and its efficiency are not related. Recurring costs are also to be taken into account. The energy needed to run the purifier will make quite a lot of difference to the power bill.

Noise can be a big problem if the air purifier is meant for use in a bedroom or in the family room, since many air purifiers use loud motors to draw air through filters.

Electrical: Electrical Safety Rules To Prevent Electrical Accidents

Electrical Safety Rules To Prevent Electrical Accidents

Strictly follow electrical safety rules to prevent electrical accidents in this modern world of electricity and appliances. Young children in particular who come in contact with electricity are getting killed every year all over the world. The best way to keep you and your family and friends safe from electricity is to know how electricity works. Electricity always tries to take a shorter route to ground. If some thing that conducts electricity comes in contact, electricity will take that path to ground. Remember a human like you and I are good conductors of electricity. If you come in contact with electricity the result either may be fatal or you may be hurt. Electric shock is unpredictable; it may happen at any time unexpectedly. When a shock occurs, electric current takes the shortest path through the body and the body gets heated up. Burns take place all along the route the current passed through the body. A defective domestic electrical appliance can kill a person, so do not think huge power lines only can kill a person. Water is a very good conductor of electricity. If you are touching water when you come in contact with electricity, it will pass through your body to the ground. Avoid keeping any electrical appliance near water. Also it is very important that your hands should be absolutely dry before you touch any electrical appliance. This is the reason why water should not be used to put off any electrical fire, only multipurpose fire extinguisher must be used and follow electrical safety procedures.

All domestic electrical appliances have protective insulations preventing any direct contact with electricity inside the device. It is very important for you not to damage any insulation in electrical appliances. Trees are also conductors of electricity because of the moisture in it. A tree coming in contact with a power line is dangerous. Anyone touches the tree that is having contact with electrical power line is likely to get shock. If a branch of tree falls on electrical power line it may cause the electricity to go off until it is corrected. If a power line snaps and if any person happen to touch the wire is likely to be killed. Do not go near anything such as trees, metal fence, vehicles etc if a live power line falls on it. It is important to keep a long distance away from snapped power line. Always remember electrical safety rules to prevent electrical accidents at such incidents.

It is very important for you know what to do if electrical shock occurs to somebody. Do not touch a person who has received a shock because there is always a possibility that the person is still touching the source of electricity. If you touch, you are also likely to get a shock and may become a victim. The first thing to do is to turn off the main power switch in the house. Make sure that electricity is stopped before touching the affected person. Do not touch the victim's burns, blisters and also do not attempt to remove the burned clothing. The shock may cause burns inside the body. It is always advisable to follow the electrical safety rules and avoid electrical accidents.

How To Reduce Risks For A Computer Based Work At Home Affiliate Business

For those who have not heard or are unaware of a computer based work at home affiliate business it is highly recommended to look into it, especially for anyone looking forward to getting started with their first business and wanting to do it online. Affiliate programs simply allow anyone to sell other people goods or services in exchange for commissions on sales made and what this does are reduce costs for start up and reduce risks on capital. It does this because there is very little money involved with an affiliate business, no buying goods, performing expensive services, paying salaries and so forth. There is, however, a bit of risk that can be eliminated or at least minimized to an extreme.

While affiliates do not have to shell out large amounts of money to start and run their computer based work at home affiliate business they do have to spend time. The work involved can be a lot and with affiliate marketing the more work put in the better the results. If an affiliate is working with only one program and that business is to go out of business than the affiliate suffers greatly, no matter how many visitors they have been coming in if they cannot purchase then no money will be made. The affiliate will have to find a new program that will work as well as the last for them and replace the affiliate links, products and services on every page before things get back to normal. This is a lot more time spent that can be a real hassle for any affiliate.

Of course any affiliate running such a computer based work at home business would want to eliminate the problem as much as possible, at least the smart affiliate, and that is totally possible. Just like an investor would not just purchase one stock for their retirement plan a great affiliate would not use just one program. By using say ten different quality affiliate programs for the business instead of just one if a company was to go out of business the affiliate would have only 10% off their business effected and still be drawing in income from the other 90%.

So by going out and finding to say the top ten highest quality affiliate programs for the site, each with tons of great products and services that your visitors would be interested in can reduce almost all the risks that can be associated with an affiliate business. Spend the time and research the best of the best programs based on the quality, costs of goods and overall feel for which would have the high converting sales for the site based on its niche, theme and topics for pages. This does not mean to load up the pages with products from each affiliate program, that would be too much. An affiliate should only put between three and five products or affiliate links per page and in a respectable manner.

Another great thing about such a diversification plan for reducing risk on affiliates are that when done correctly this maximizes income. By offering visitors a wider variety of goods from different merchants on each page visitor may purchase from each or if one may have not been impressed with what was offered by the single program may have an interest in the goods from the other programs. So while actually reducing most to all the major risks that a computer based work at home affiliate business can run up against this will also help to maximize profits, which are of course major goals of any business.

Affiliate programs are most online marketers perfect business model. They are low costs, high reward and little risk. When done right and that is very attractive. Affiliates always have to keep up the work in the competitive marketplace so time becomes more or less the overhead costs. By diversifying between multiple affiliate programs that risk being all but eliminated and so are the hassles of if a program was to go out of business and the time it would take to fix such a problem.

Built-In Refrigerators Make Your Kitchen Seem Distinctive

Built-in refrigerators are meant to blend with the kitchen perfectly, creating a sleek look for your house. They are built-in to the cabinet area so if you are planning on moving soon, do not go for this option. However, if you hope to be in your home for years and want an appealing, unique look, consider built-in refrigerators. They may be counter depth, all-refrigerator and customized. Learn a bit about these options before choosing the best one for your home.

One of the most adored categories of built-in refrigerators is the counter depth look, as this only extends out as far as the cabinets. This way, the refrigerator does not block your walkway at all, which is good whether you have a small kitchen or just want to use every inch of space you have. This type of refrigerator is usually wider and a bit taller than the standard fridge in order to make up for the lack of depth. Therefore, you do not lack any volume so that you still have plenty of room to keep your food. This item is more expensive than a typical refrigerator, but it is usually less costly than the other kinds of built-in refrigerators. Also, you have a few choices when it comes to a counter depth fridge, as it can be side-by-side, French door bottom freezer, or plain bottom freezer. The choice depends on your inclination.

Another kind of built-in refrigerator on the market is the all-refrigerator kind, which means that the entire appliance is taken up by a refrigerated area. There is no freezer, but you can get an appliance with only frozen area put in next to your all-fridge appliance. This allows you to have tons of space in each appliance, and is especially good for those who love to cook. If you want your kitchen to be gourmet, you should consider this choice when seeking built-in refrigerators.

You can also request a custom built-in fridge, which is an appliance that blends in to the rest of the kitchen since it matches the cabinets. While a counter depth refrigerator blends in by only coming out as far as the counter tops, a customized built-in appliance does the same but also features panels put over it so it looks like the cabinets. The point is for guests to initially be unable to tell the difference between the fridge and the cabinets, making for a really sleek look. This is considered well-lied, but is usually among the most expensive options for a kitchen.

If you desire to set your home apart from the rest, you may be checking out built-in refrigerators. This option is often costlier than a standard refrigerator, but you get a better, more modern look. If you are ready for a new look for your kitchen, consider the kinds of built-in refrigerators on the market.

Consumer Revolution In The Home Warranty Industry

Imagine going to the grocery store… but when you get there, someone tells you what to buy. They load up your cart with goods – regardless of whether you need them or not – and expect you to pay full price for them.

When you get home, what do you do? You toss out the sardines and the artichoke hearts and wish that you could have bought more toothpaste. But it simply wasn’t allowed.

The problem with this scenario is that you have no choice and no control. Since someone else is making the decisions, you end up losing money. (Just what is an artichoke heart, anyway?)

While this idea may sound comical to some, that’s exactly what’s going on in the home warranty industry. Customers who are looking for home warranties are showing up at a home warranty provider’s website and being told what to buyÂ… and how much they’ll get.

Do you need two air conditioners covered? Too bad. Don’t have any ceiling fans? Too bad. You only get one air conditioner covered on your policy and you’re paying for ceiling fan coverage anyway. Will the home warranty provider do anything about it? Probably not.

Well, most of them won’t.

One company, however, does offer something different. It’s an innovative customer-centered solution. It’s a consumer revolution because it takes the control out of the hands of the home warranty company and gives it to the consumer. With Met Home Warranty’s revolutionary Design-A-Plan, customers have the ability to completely control their home warranty policy.

Design-A-Plan will change the way home warranty customers will shop for their coverage. Policies will no longer be assigned to customers whether they need specific systems covered or not. Instead, customers can choose among base packages and adjust their plan according to their needs.

Do you need two air conditioners covered? No problem! Don’t have any ceiling fans? Don’t pay for them!

What’s great about this innovative system is how easy it is to use: Design-A-Plan will take the customer step-by-step through their policy creation in a hassle-free “no-salesperson-will-call” atmosphere. Along the way they’ll learn about their home and they’ll do due diligence on the home warranty industry.

Design-A-Plan does two things: First, it takes other home warranty companies to task for robbing their customers of choice and control. Second, it returns that choice and control where it belongsÂ… back in the hands of the consumer!

Homeowners deserve choice when buying a home warranty policy. It’s time they got that choice!

Explain the circular flow of income in an open economy?

Circular Flow of income in an open economy
*INTRODUCTION:
~ The open economy consists of five sectors.
~ These comprise of households, business firms, financial sector, government sector and foreign sector.
~ The inclusion of foreign sector indicates that the economy has trade relations with other countries in the world.
~ Thus, the economy is related to imports, exports, borrowing and lending with foreign countries and financial institutions.
*ILLUSTRATION:

*EXPLANATION:
~ The above illustration depicts the flow of income in an open economy consisting of five sectors, namely, households, firms, financial sector, government sector and foreign sector.
~ The households provide the factors of production to the firms and get the reward from the firms in the form of rent, wages, interest and profits.
~ The households incur consumption expenditure through purchase of goods and services not only from the domestic firms but also from the foreign sector.
~ Thus, it becomes the income for the domestic firms and also for the foreign sector due to the imports undertaken by the households.
~ Also, the households also save a part of their income which becomes the investment expenditure of the firms. The households also pay taxes to the government and in turn, benefit due to public expenditure incurred on infrastructure, education, transfer payments etc.
~ The firms purchase goods and services from the foreign sector and these become the imports of the economy. The firms also supply goods and services to the foreign sector and these become the exports of the economy. So it is the net value of the imports or the exports that are injected in the money flow of the economy.
~ The firms pay various taxes to the government and the government, in turn, Purchases goods and services from the firms and also provides them with various subsidies.
~ The government collects revenue by way of various taxes and, in turn, incurs public expenditure when public expenditure exceeds public revenue, the government resorts to public borrowing.
~ The foreign sector also plays a pivotal role in the functioning of the economy by way of exports and imports as well as through the financial sector by way of lending and borrowing.
~ Thus, the circular flow of national income includes the net of export i.e total exports – total imports. The value of net exports depends on the value of exports and thus can be positive or negative.
~ Positive net exports add/inject money in the circular flow of national income, whereas negative net exports reduce the flow of money in the national income.
*CONCLUSION:
~Thus, the foreign sector affects the overall economic functioning of the nation.
~ The national income is measured by total expenditure that includes the net of exports.

Find A Great Work At Home Job Idea

Many people have the desire and will to work at home but do not know how to find a work at home job idea. There are a few great ways to make money online and there really is something for everyone, whether you want part time income or to build a full time home business the options are available. What creates great home jobs and businesses is the ability to capitalize on your own abilities and skills, these are the businesses that do very well online.

The main way's people create income and sometimes wealth online are using web sites to sell products or services and even other people goods through affiliate programs or advertising. Using auction sites to create a business is also popular as well is blogging. Some Internet marketers use free classified sites and still others have jumped onto the big social networking sites to market and profit from an online proportion. And what the best webmasters do is use all these sources to maximize their revenue.

Every work at home job idea has its own nuances, and it is why a plan needs to be put in place at the start. First a theme has to be put in place to decide what you will be doing to make money, will it be a web site on a special skill you have to market or a blog about your favorite interests. Perhaps you know a lot about antiques and can get great deals on them and open an auction store to sell them. These examples are why it becomes important to focus on your personal strengths.

While most pass up on a work at home job idea that plays on their strengths to go after what they think will bring in great money is a grave mistake. Coming up with a business plan that puts your talents, skills, education and interests at the forefront of the plan will be the best place to start. When coming up with your plan income is of course important and each idea must be looked into further to make sure that the business has the potential to make money but the first place to start is with finding business ideas that you have the competence to do. Spend the time to come up with ideas for a business which you can handle in terms of writing about and supplying great information to web surfers on.

Whatever business model you start with it will require a lot of work and especially at the beginning, by working on finding a work at home job idea based on your skills, and education eliminates most of the work because it will be easy to write about and work on. Make sure it is a business that you will enjoy working on because there will be a lot of time spent on it. Not only for yourself but for potential customers and visitors, if they do not like your information or feel that you do not know what you are talking about they will lose confidence and defiantly not make any purchases.

So long as you spend the time to come up with a work at home job idea that you can handle because you know about it the business has the great odds at success. If you pick the wrong ideas that you know nothing about based on greed then it will probably fail because you will not know what to do and the work will be too much to keep up with. In the beginning of any business, a lot of time and work must be put in and for little in return, that is why it is called building a business. The best way to make sure that you get through this hump is to do a business idea that you care about and have an interest in, if you do that and put in some research than with some work the business has every chance for success.

101 Best Moving Tips

== Getting Organized ==

1. Start early- Almost everyone has more stuff than they think they do, and almost no one leaves enough time to pack it.

2. Room Lists- Start by forming two room lists, one for your current place and one for future place. This will help you manage what has to go where.

3. Room Inventory- Go to each room and write down the types of things that need to be packed: furniture items, length of shelving, closets, etc.

4. Time Allotment- Make sure to leave enough time. The most common timeframe reported by people moving is that it takes a month to pack. One study reported that it takes 4-5 hours to pack an average dorm room, so that should give you an idea of what’s involved.

5. Calendar- Pull out a calendar and plan by day when each room will be completed.

6. Delegation- If you’re moving with family members, agree with them exactly while tasks they will be doing and the date they will be finished.

7. Track your progress- at least once per week track where you are against the date on the calendar. Revise your plan if you’re falling behind.

== Finding Great Movers ==

8. Only hire the best- If you choose to hire professional movers, do your research and hire good ones. Poor quality movers really can be worse than none at all.

9. Referrals- Get referrals from local real estate agents and friends who have moved recently.

10. Licensing- Only consider movers that are licensed, bonded and insured.

11. Research- Investigate your potential movers through the U.S. Department of Transportation, MovingScam-dot-com and the Better Business Bureau.

12. Estimates- Evaluate a minimum of 3 movers based on in-home estimates of goods to be moved.

13. Price- Price isn't the only factor- extremely low bids indicate a desperate mover.

14. Estimates- Ask for written "Binding Not-To-Exceed" estimates.

15. Avoid "rogue movers"- if you feel uncomfortable, trust your instincts! Never agree to move your possessions with anyone you don’t trust.

== General Packing ==

16. Pack a suitcase- For each member of the family moving, pack a suitcase as if you’re all going on a 3-day vacation, including changes of clothes, medications, eyeglasses, toiletries, etc. Keep the suitcases separated from all the other items to be moved, such as in your car, at your new workplace, etc. so you’ll have everything you need for the first few days without searching through boxes.

17. Create “Open Me First” boxes- Pick one or two boxes per room as "Open Me First" boxes. Put in them the things you'll need first at your new location. Then mark the sides of the boxes so you'll know which ones are which.

18. One at a time- Wherever possible, work on packing just one room at a time (instead of several all at once) to keep things focused and organized.

19. Less is more- Use packing as a way to clean out belongings for donations, a yard sale, and/or the recycling center. Aim to eliminate 1/3 of your belongings. You'll save time and expense.

20. Off the floor- Instead of the floor, use a completely cleared-off table top or counter in each room for packing boxes. You'll find you get much more accomplished.

21. Tracking small parts- When taking apart items to be moved, such as tables, securely tape screws and other small parts securely to the underside of the item. You'll always know where to look and save time putting things back together.

22. Save space- Use towels, pillows and t-shirts you’re packing as extra padding around fragile items. It will save room in your boxes.

23. Criss-cross tape- Tape boxes along the seams where the flaps meet together. Then tape perpendicularly at the center of the first tape, forming a cross.

24. Stacking- Stack boxes with the heaviest on the bottom, lightest on top to prevent crushing.

25. The 30-pound rule- Keep each box below 50 pounds absolute maximum and below 30 pounds wherever possible. Heavier boxes lead to injuries, are much more likely to burst their tape or seams and tend to get dropped.

26. Scale- Keep a bathroom scale in the room you're packing so you can keep the boxes below the weight limits.

== Packing Electronics ==

27. A picture is worth 1000 words- Use a digital or cell phone camera to take pictures of how complicated wiring (computer cords, speaker wires) is hooked up. Be sure to use plenty of light and careful focus so the pictures will be clear. Print each picture and put it in the top of the box holding the item. This will make hooking up the items in your new place much easier.

28. Original is best- Always use the original packaging when available. (I realize that most of us don’t have the original packaging for much of anything, but I thought I would bring it up anyway).

29. Double boxing- For especially fragile electronics, pack them first in a box with an excessive amount of biodegradable packing peanuts. Then pack that box in a larger box filled with biodegradable packing peanuts. This two-box system seems like a pain but seems to do a better job isolating items from jarring impacts.

30. No loose ends- Wrap each cord carefully with cable organizers, heavy twist ties or heavy rubber bands. Never throw unwrapped cords into boxes- they get tangled and caught on other items.

31. Cord labels- Consider getting a label maker and labeling the end of each. Then you'll know exactly which cord you're seeing and where each end connects when you put things back together.

32. The two-inch rule- Use at least 2" of biodegradable packing peanuts around each side of fragile items.

== Box Inventory and Labels ==

33. “Fat” is in- Use the thickest, darkest marker you can find for labeling boxes. Pencils, pens, tin or light markers are almost impossible to see even just a few feet away.

34. Two sides- Label each box on the two broadest sides, opposite one another. That way if a box gets turned, you can still identify its contents.

35. Abbreviate room names- Start box labels with the abbreviated name of the room followed by a box number, such as “BTH2-6” for "second bathroom, 6th box." You can then track each box to make sure everything arrived safely.

36. Label "Open Me First" on boxes where it applies.

37. Mark "Fragile" where appropriate.

38. Identify contents- Identify the major contents and where they came from, such as "Medicine Cabinet" or "Linen Closet- Towels and Wash Cloths."

39. Box Inventory- Keep a clipboard and write down each box's room, box number and contents (graph paper is great for keeping things recorded neatly).

40. Verifying delivery- When unloading, check off each box as it gets unloaded at your new place. Then you'll know everything arrived safely.

41. Labels out- Ask movers to stack boxes in your new place with the labels facing out so that you can easily spot a specific box.

== Letting People Know ==

42. Post Office- File your change of address with the Post Office at least 30 days prior to the date of the move.

43. Referrals- Ask everyone you notify for a referral in your new area.

44. Records- Get copies of your existing records (transcripts from schools, medical records from doctors, etc.) while you’re notifying the changes of address.

== Change of Address- Whom to Notify ==

45. Accountant/tax preparer; Alumni associations; Attorneys

46. Babysitter/ child care provider; Banks (auto loans, checking accounts, credit cards, home equity, IRA’s, mortgage, safe deposit box, savings account); Broker; Business cards (order new ones if applicable)

== Moving With Kids ==

61. Get a children's book on moving for smaller kids. Consider “The Berenstain Bears’ Moving Day.”

62. If appropriate, let children pick their room.

63. If possible, let kids pick a decoration for their new room.

64. Pack a kid's sized suitcase and let each child pick out a special toy to keep with them and a special outfit to wear on "new home day."

65. If the child has a special dish or cup, include it in the kitchen "Open Me First" box so familiar items await them at their new place.

66. Consider unpacking the kids' rooms first, or at least their "Open Me First" boxes to help them settle in.

== Open Me First Box: The Kitchen ==

67. Aluminum foil or plastic wrap

68. Break-proof or disposable flatware, cups, and plates

87. Level

88. Phillips-head screwdriver

89. Picture hangers

90. Tape measure

91. Utility knife

== Moving Day ==

92. Again, start early- You want to have everything as organized as possible prior to the arrival of the movers.

93. Use sitters- Recruit help in watching your small kids and pets on Moving Day. Your attention will be needed for the nuts and bolts of the move.

94. Have food ready- Whether you have professional movers or friends and family, having coffee, orange juice, and bagels or donuts available will make it easier for everyone to get started.

95. Cell phone numbers- Make sure you have the cell phone number of the driver of the truck entered into your cell phone, and that the driver has yours in case you get separated or have a problem.

96. Proper payment- Almost all professional movers will demand payment in full and in cash before they will unpack a single box. Make sure you have payment ready.

97. Directions- Have directions and a map ready for anyone will be driving between your old place and your new place.

== Unpacking ==

98. Unpacking Plan- Just like with packing, have a plan for unpacking. Otherwise you're likely to end up frustrated with a sea of half-opened boxes with your necessities still "missing in action."

99. Prioritize Rooms- Focus on "Open Me First" boxes in the bathrooms and kitchen first.

100. Trash and Recyclable Boxes- Keep at least one trash bag (for the real trash) and one large emptied box (to hold used packing paper and biodegradable "peanuts") available in each room BEFORE you start the heavy unpacking.

101. Time Limits- Set an objective of unpacking a certain number of boxes each day until all the boxes are all unpacked.

Trying To Get You Child To Stop Stealing

Children steal for a variety reasons. Some steal for comfort, others to impress a group of friends, get back at their parents, or to get the things they want. Sometimes they steal just because it is exciting. Probably as many as one in four children have deliberately stolen something at some time. Most, of course, never do it again. But those who do, do so for one reason: it works. Whatever their core need: attention, money, or excitement, the stealing provides it for them.

Sometimes, the excitement generated by stealing is motivation enough. As many as one in four kids have stolen something - although most will never do it again.

Along with this, your main emphasis needs to be on promoting honesty. Use everyday events, such as stories from television or school, as a starting point for talking about honesty, integrity, and family morals.

The best way to prevent stealing from happening is to find another way to meet their needs. Once their needs are met, they won't have to continue stealing.

Your primary emphasis is on promoting honesty. You can use everyday events, such as stories from television or school, to begin to instill the values of honesty, integrity, and family morals.

If you do catch them stealing, stay calm. Losing your temper will not help, and may even act as a reward for them. Secondly, do not tempt them to lie their way out of it.

Keep your eyes on your children. Catch them in the act of being good instead of focusing on when they are doing something wrong. Children respond to reward and praise for their little acts of honesty. This helps promote a culture of honesty in the home.

Give the stolen goods back to the owner, with the additional compensation and a heartfelt apology.

If taken from a stranger, confiscate the goods (perhaps hand them in at the police station) and impose a fine.

Bring the item back to the manager of the shop, school child, or teacher, along with some compensation and an apology.

If taken from a stranger, remove the items (perhaps hand them in at the police station) and impose a fine or loss of privileges.

If the item is no longer in the child's possession and the money has been spent, ask the child to sell some of their own favorite items (even to you) to pay for them and the fine. Make sure what is sold is gone for good.

Another option that has an effect is to arrange for some "community service" for the theft victim or, if you don't know their identity, for the family or neighbors.

The final point is to let it go once the event is over. Go back to work at rewarding right behavior and quit concentrating on the wrong. What we all should strive for continually promoting honesty. Your child isn't your enemy, the dishonest behavior is.
